The Institute Incubation and Innovation Council (I3C), IIT Jammu, successfully conducted a five-day technical training programme on “Project Management” Batch -1 from 10 to 14 August 2026 for employees of Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL). The programme was attended by 28 participants and was designed to strengthen their professional capabilities in planning, executing, monitoring, and managing projects in the power infrastructure sector.
The programme was inaugurated in the presence of Prof. M. T. Arvind, Chief Innovation Officer, IIT Jammu and Director, I3C-IIT Jammu, along with distinguished faculty members and experts from IIT Jammu, including Prof. Anup Shukla, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering and Dean of Student Affairs, IIT Jammu; Prof. Yogesh, Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, Head, Interdisciplinary Programme and PIC, IBD I3C-IIT Jammu; Prof. Ankit Dubey, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Jammu; Dr. Lakhwinder, COO, I3C-IIT Jammu and Er. Rajinder Gupta, Superintending Electrical Engineer( Retired), Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited.
The training programme focused on key aspects of project management in power infrastructure, covering areas relevant to effective project planning, execution, monitoring, resource management, risk management, and coordination. The sessions were designed to provide participants with a blend of conceptual knowledge and practical insights, enabling them to address the complexities involved in managing large-scale power infrastructure projects.
The programme also provided an opportunity for meaningful interaction between academic experts and industry professionals, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and practical experiences from the power sector. Through expert-led sessions and sector-focused discussions, participants gained valuable perspectives that can contribute to improved project planning, decision-making, and execution in their respective professional roles.
