Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will be able to:
- Understand automotive product development cycles, vehicle architecture, and OEM engineering workflows.
- Design automotive plastic, sheet metal, BIW, and wiring harness components in compliance with manufacturability, safety, and industry standards.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles as per ASME standards to interpret and create functional engineering drawings.
- Develop proficiency in industry-standard automotive design and CAE tools including CATIA V5, Siemens NX, ANSA, LS-DYNA, HyperMesh, and ALIAS.
- Prepare simulation-ready finite element models through geometry clean-up, meshing, and pre-processing workflows.
- Set up, execute, and interpret structural and crashworthiness simulations for automotive components and systems.
- Perform tolerance analysis, benchmarking, and cost estimation to support engineering decision-making.
- Apply engineering fundamentals, DFM and DFA principles to optimise designs for manufacturing and assembly.
- Execute real-world automotive design and analysis projects aligned with OEM and Tier-1 industry requirements.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or allied engineering disciplines.
- Final-year undergraduate students and fresh graduates are eligible to apply.
- Working professionals with relevant industry experience may also apply.
- No prior experience with automotive design or CAE tools is required.
Admission Process:
- Candidates may connect with the Skill-Lync admission team for guidance on the programme, eligibility, and admission process.
- Candidates must apply online by submitting the application form through the Skill-Lync platform.
- All applications will undergo document and eligibility verification by the Skill-Lync admissions team in coordination with I3C (Institute Incubation and Innovation Council) – Indian Institute of Technology Jammu.
- Selection of candidates will be carried out based on academic credentials and relevant experience.
- The list of selected candidates will be shared by I3C–IIT Jammu with Skill-Lync, and a confirmation email will be sent to the selected candidates by I3C–IIT Jammu.
- Offer letters for selected candidates will be issued by I3C–IIT Jammu through email, with copies marked to Skill-Lync.
- The program fee will be collected directly by I3C–IIT Jammu from the candidates after the offer letter has been issued.
- Upon receipt of payment as per the approved terms, the enrolment letter containing programme details will be issued to the candidate by I3C–IIT Jammu, confirming successful admission.
