About Project Phoenix

Project Phoenix is an initiative of I3C-IIT Jammu focused on building and supporting an ecosystem of entrepreneurship, innovation, digital commerce, and community-driven development. The project seeks to create meaningful opportunities for local enterprises, entrepreneurs, artisans, and other stakeholders through technology, market access, communication, and partnerships.

About the Role

I3C-IIT Jammu is looking for a smart, energetic, creative, and highly communicative individual to join the Project Phoenix team as a Social Media & Communications Associate. The ideal candidate should have a natural understanding of social media, internet culture, emerging trends, and digital content, and should be comfortable communicating with people, creating content, and coordinating multiple activities.

Prior professional experience is not mandatory. We value curiosity, creativity, communication, ownership, and the ability to execute.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day social media activities across platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, and other relevant platforms. The role will involve identifying trends and emerging content formats, generating ideas for reels, posts, stories, videos and campaigns, supporting the development and execution of the social media content calendar, monitoring audience engagement, and tracking basic social media performance.

The candidate will also assist in writing captions, social media copies, short-form communication and scripts for reels and short videos; convert ideas and trends into relevant content; support brand, event and campaign communication; and research stories, trends and content opportunities relevant to Project Phoenix.

The role will involve basic content creation using smartphones, coordination with designers, photographers, video editors, agencies, creators and partners, and support for events, launches and marketing activities. The candidate will also be expected to use ChatGPT and other AI tools for research, ideation and content development and remain updated with emerging digital tools and platforms.

Essential Qualifications

• Be a graduate from any discipline.
• Experience: Fresher / 0–1 year

• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be highly active and comfortable with social media.
• Understand Instagram, Reels, YouTube, LinkedIn and internet culture.
• Be curious about current trends and emerging content formats.
• Communicate confidently with different people.
• Have a good sense of storytelling.
• Be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
• Demonstrate ownership and initiative.
• Learn quickly and enjoy experimenting with new ideas and tools.
• Basic Canva or content creation skills will be an advantage.

What We Look For

More than the resume, we will evaluate communication, social awareness, creativity, writing ability, confidence, execution, curiosity, AI-tool familiarity, and attitude.

The ideal candidate may not necessarily have an extensive or polished resume but should demonstrate the ability to identify what works, generate interesting ideas, communicate confidently, experiment with new tools, and take ownership of execution.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete a short practical assignment and/or participate in an interview. The practical assessment may include developing social media ideas, creating a short-form content concept, identifying current trends, and demonstrating the ability to communicate an idea effectively.

Remuneration & Engagement

Remuneration: 24K – 26K per month consolidated.
Duration of Engagement: 1 year and extendable, first 6 months will be probation.
