In a major step towards strengthening the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu and the CSIR–Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, have signed a Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three promising start-ups — Biogreen Projects, Evlogia Eco Care, and Crop Domain — on 3rd August 2025.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in advancing the vision of Startup India and Stand-Up India, inspired by the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, Vice President, CSIR.
The partnership aims to bridge cutting-edge research with societal impact, fostering an environment where science and entrepreneurship work hand in hand. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Manoj Singh Gaur, Director, IIT Jammu, remarked,
“This tripartite alliance exemplifies IIT Jammu’s commitment to bridging cutting-edge research with societal impact.”
Echoing this sentiment, Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director, CSIR-IIIM, stated,
“This initiative will strengthen the innovation and startup ecosystem and enable faster translation of scientific and engineering research into commercially viable technologies.”
The collaboration focuses on key areas such as:
- Joint R&D and product development
- Incubation, mentorship, and lab-to-market acceleration
- Skill-building, workshops, and employment generation
- Commercial scale-up in biotechnology, sustainability, and agri-innovation
