The Institute Incubation and Innovation Council (I3C) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu has partnered with PHN Technology Pvt. Ltd. to establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT) at the IIT Jammu Jagti campus.
As part of this collaboration, PHN Technology has pledged an investment of ₹50 lakhs to fully fund the establishment of the CoE, including laboratory infrastructure and equipment procurement. The Centre is expected to become fully operational within the next two months, positioning IIT Jammu as a leading hub for innovation and research in Robotics and AI.
The CoE aims to create a vibrant ecosystem where students, faculty members, and industry experts collaborate on cutting-edge robotics and AI projects. It will facilitate workshops, research initiatives, and active knowledge exchange between academia and industry, fostering a culture of innovation, experimentation, and applied learning.
Aligned with IIT Jammu’s mission to promote technology-driven growth and entrepreneurship, the Centre will play a pivotal role in advancing the robotics, AI, and IoT ecosystem in the Jammu and Kashmir region. By offering access to state-of-the-art facilities and industry mentorship, the CoE will enable students to gain hands-on experience and practical insights into these transformative technologies.
The establishment of this Centre of Excellence marks a significant milestone in IIT Jammu’s efforts to drive technological innovation, attract investments, and build a skilled workforce for the future. It is envisioned as a catalyst that will empower the next generation of innovators, researchers, and entrepreneurs to contribute meaningfully to India’s growing robotics and AI landscape.
